Dr. Darren Williams
Owner of Oyster Creek Animal Hospital, Dr. Darren Williams grew up in Aledo, a small town outside of Fort Worth. He has had a lifelong love of caring for pets and practiced medicine at animal hospitals in San Antonio and Houston before opening a hospital in Katy in 1994 and Oyster Creek Animal Hospital in 2017.
Dr. Williams attended Texas A&M University and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Science in 1986. He continued his education at the Texas A&M University School of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1988. His professional interests include orthopedic surgery, endocrinology, and cardiology. In 2007, he received his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.
A member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Texas Veterinary Medical Association and the Harris County Veterinary Medical Association, Dr. Williams also serves on the legislative committee for the TVMA and is a member of the Lone Star College Veterinary Technology Program Advisory Committee. In addition, he serves on the Board of Directors for SIRE, Houston’s Therapeutic Equestrian Center.
In his spare time, Dr. Williams enjoys scuba diving, horseback riding, and traveling. He is also a Civil War buff, Houston Astros fan, and a Houston Texans fan. Dr. Williams has two adult children and two grandchildren. His four-legged family members include his dog Ellie and two horses.
