Dr. Jessica Michalec

Hello! My name is Jessica Michalec, DVM and I am so excited to be joining the team at Oyster Creek Animal Hospital! I have been practicing for almost 19 years and graduated from Texas A&M University. I worked at a small animal/exotic hospital for many years and then worked as a relief doctor around the greater Houston area. For the past 3 years, I have supported several clinics all over Texas as an Area Medical Director. My passion is exotic animal medicine (rodents, rabbits, birds, reptiles, amphibians, etc!) but other professional interests include internal medicine, dentistry, and behavior.

Originally from San Antonio, I have lived in the Houston area with my family since graduating vet school. I am happy to share my life with my husband, our son and daughter (ages 13 and 9 respectively), and our critters – dogs Nugget and Parker; guinea pigs Sparkle and Chet; crested geckos Lyla, Aspen, and Banshee; ball python Snape; and beta fish Coral. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, caring for my houseplants, crocheting, thrift-shopping, and spending time with my family
